Late April 2008
Come to our 'Once and Future Humidity Gallery' weekend at Railroad Square!

We will be closing our doors at Railroad Square soon. We'll be moving to Market Street, a robust shopping district in NE Tallahassee. But first, before we move, come celebrate our last 'First Friday' in the Square on Friday, May 2, 6:00-9:00 pm.

We'll be offering the gourmet treats we've been famous for and the chance to see our beautiful collection of Southeastern regional craft/art one last time in our original location.

And on Saturday, May 3, we'll open one more time for our last day of business in the Square. Come close the place down and lift a glass of wine to toast this transitional moment in Humidity's life!

After that, the next time we open our doors for business will be Friday, May 16, at 1355 Market Street in The Verandas shopping center, at the corner of Timberlane Road and Market Street (where Talbot's, Cotton Etc., Someone's in the Kitchen, and Tasty Pastry reside).

New works are arriving all the time and many new artists are calling us and coming in, eager to be a part of the new Humidity Gallery. We're so excited to be continuing our dream of showcasing the really amazing works of talented artists of our city and region.

Unusually beautiful garden art: the works of Christine Sibley in cast concrete

Christine Sibley was well known in Atlanta, GA, where she produced fountains and other public works featuring mournful female faces and botanical and sealife images in the art nouveau style. Many of her original works were in ceramic clay. Her associate, the artist Carlos Montano, managed her gallery, Urban Nirvana, in Atlanta, and reproduced her works for market. When Sibley passed at the young age of 50 (1999), Montano continued production of her images in cast concrete. This material, much heavier and more durable than ceramic clay or plaster, works well in the outdoor environment. Humidity Gallery brings these works to Tallahassee, and we're delighted to highlight these two artists of the 'humid zone!'
[The Sibley/ Montano work is currently ex-hibited on Humidity's front porch in Railroad Square, and will be exhibited inside our new gallery when we move.]
New pottery in the gallery: Amber Poole and Earth, Fire, Spirit Pottery

We're so happy to present the beautiful, playful works of Amber Poole of Earth, Fire, Spirit Pottery! Amber hails from Tecumseh, Oklahoma, and travels the art show circuit. We've selected pieces from her in two color lines that we felt most accurately expressed our feelings for the 'humid zone.' Frogs and dragonflies, stars and spirals adorn her pottery, glazed in lustrous colors. Functional and gorgeous. Currently in Humidity in the Square, and moving to the new Humidity on Market Street.
